The Power of the Written Word

Most modern card games rely heavily on expensive, commissioned artwork. We took a different path. Manifest OACG focuses entirely on the written word. This design choice gives us near limitless creative potential. We can design, balance, and release new cards, mechanics, and seasons at a fraction of the time and cost of traditional publishers.

More importantly, this is a theological choice. God chose the written word as His delivery method. We believe wholly in His methodology. Tabletop games are a fantastic tool for outreach, but relying on worldly artwork to depict biblical concepts is a massive liability. Art is subjective. It can unintentionally misrepresent God's message or introduce themes we want no part of. By stripping away the art, we ensure the focus stays exactly where it belongs: on the text, the strategy, and the fellowship.

What is an Open Architecture Card Game (OACG)?

The difference between regular TCGs or CCGs and an OACG is total creative freedom. Most card games lock you into buying random booster packs to chase the cards you need. An Open Architecture Card Game allows players to completely design and build the exact cards they want for their decks using our Constructed Builder.

This is handled through a strict mathematical taxing system. Every single ability, stat, or keyword you add to a custom card has a set cost. You must balance the cost of each card against a total available tax limit for your entire deck and Leader. You have the freedom to forge your own strategy, as long as the math balances out.

Building the Third Space

We are losing the art of face-to-face interaction. Screens dominate our days. Manifest OACG is built to foster a "Third Space." This is a physical environment outside of the home and the workplace where real community thrives.

We want to see families and friends gathered around a table again. We want youth groups engaging in deep, strategic play while discussing the biblical concepts grounded in the cards they create. You do not just play Manifest. You use it to build a community.

A Quick Look at Gameplay

Manifest OACG is fast, tactical, and deeply engaging. Let us look at a quick three-turn game between two players, Jill and Jacen.

Turn 1: The Opening Move

Jill takes the initiative. She deploys a cheap 2-Honor Operative equipped with the "Surge" keyword to her Godless Zone. Surge allows her Operative to attack immediately without waiting a turn. She strikes directly at Jacen's Conviction points. Jacen responds by playing a 1-Honor Operative with "Sentry" into his Godly Zone to prepare his defenses for the next assault.

Turn 2: Setting the Trap

Jacen uses his Leader's "Foresight" ability. This lets him look at the top cards of his deck and manipulate his next draw. Finding exactly what he needs, he draws an Item card and equips it to his Sentry. The Item grants the "Armored" keyword. Jill attempts to break his line by playing a "Damaging" Focus Rite directly from her hand, but Jacen's new armor absorbs the blow.

Turn 3: A Shift in Tactics

Jill changes tactics from a Godless offensive to a Godly offensive. She has noticed Jacen manipulating the top of his deck with his Foresight ability, so she strikes with a Godly card directly against his currently empty Godless Zone. With no Godless defenders to block her way, the hit lands on Jacen.

However, Godly Operatives do not deal damage to a player's Conviction. When they hit, they discard the top card of the defending player's deck straight to the Cloud. In competitive play, a Godly win (forcing an opponent to deck out) scores 4 points, while a Godless win (reducing the other player's Conviction to 0) scores 3 points.
